Stairlift Service Across Butler County

Butler County, OH

The Dayton Lane Historic District is where Hamilton's 19th-century money built — Queen Anne, Italianate, and Second Empire homes with steep formal staircases, carved newel posts, and original turned balusters we mount around every week. German Village, nine blocks immediately north of downtown, has narrow-lot Italianates with 30-inch stairwells that require slim-profile rails. Rossville holds 123 contributing buildings on the National Register, most with formal front-hall staircases. In Lindenwald, the city's most populous neighborhood, the 1920s four-squares have settled unevenly and need shimmed brackets on every install. The North End and Prospect Hill round out the regular call list.

1882 Dayton Lane Queen Anne — straight rail on original oak treads

Dayton Lane, OH Installed March 2026

An 1882 Queen Anne on Dayton Lane with a formal front-hall staircase, dark oak treads worn smooth from 140 years of use, and a carved walnut newel post that Mrs. Engel's husband refinished by hand in 1987. She was clear on the phone: nothing touches the walnut. We measured the 16-tread straight run from the foyer, confirmed an existing outlet behind the hall table would reach, and bolted the rail into the oak tread surface only — well clear of every turned baluster and the carved newel. The cream-upholstered seat parks flush at the bottom landing, folded against the wall.

90-degree upper landing turn in a German Village Italianate

German Village, OH Installed February 2026

An 1889 Italianate rowhouse in German Village with a 14-tread staircase that bends 90 degrees at the upper floor landing before opening onto the second-floor hallway. Mr. Braun, 78, had been gripping both plaster walls going up for the past year. We laser-scanned the staircase on the first visit, fabricated a single curved rail that follows the bend around the half-wall at the top, and installed a swivel-exit seat that parks on the upper landing. Mr. Braun steps off directly onto the hallway floor — one continuous ride, no transfer.

1895 Rossville mansion — straight rail on stone-tile treads in a compact stairwell

Rossville, OH Installed January 2026

An 1895 mansion on South D Street in Rossville with a compact secondary staircase near the original butler's pantry — stone-tile treads, a wooden sideboard at the base, and a potted fern on the landing. The Caldwells wanted the main formal staircase untouched, so we mounted a straight rail on this rear stairway instead. The brown-upholstered seat blends with the traditional cottage-style interior, and the rail bolts directly into the stone treads without contacting the antique sideboard or the plaster wall.

Raised front porch in Lindenwald — weather-sealed outdoor lift on stone paving

Lindenwald, OH Installed December 2025

A 1922 American four-square on Pleasant Avenue in Lindenwald with a raised covered porch, seven exterior steps, and rough natural stone paving at the base. Mrs. Owens, 79, had been using the side door to avoid the front steps for two years. We bolted the outdoor-rated rail through the stone paving into the concrete substrate, sealed every bracket with marine-grade epoxy, and installed a cream weather-resistant seat that parks at the porch landing. The IP55-sealed motor and cold-rated battery handle Ohio's freeze-thaw cycles without a service call.

Carpeted staircase in a Prospect Hill colonial — rail over brown Berber carpet

Prospect Hill, OH Installed November 2025

A 1938 colonial on a hillside lot in Prospect Hill with a fully carpeted staircase and a brown Berber runner that matched the brown upholstery of the seat almost exactly. Mr. Harding, a retired P&G machinist, wanted the rail installed without cutting the carpet his wife had picked out before she passed. We bolted through the carpet into the tread subfloor using spacer washers that compress the pile without cutting, and hand-drove each fastener. The seat parks at the landing where a tiled floor meets the first carpeted tread.

Platform Lift

Indoor inclined wheelchair platform lift in a North End two-story — yellow safety edges

North End, OH Installed October 2025

A 1946 two-story wood-frame home in the North End where Mr. Wallace, 72, a full-time wheelchair user and PASSPORT Waiver recipient, needed floor-to-floor access without transferring out of his chair. The seated stairlift models were not an option. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift that rides the indoor staircase — a flat black anti-slip platform with high-visibility yellow safety edges on the perimeter, white handrails on both sides, and an automatic folding ramp at the lower boarding point. The PASSPORT Care Manager at the Council on Aging of Southwestern Ohio authorized the full cost as an Environmental Accessibility Adaptation.

Common Questions

Everything Hamilton Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Hamilton right now?

Straight rails in a standard Hamilton home run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. That covers the 12-to-16-foot runs in most Lindenwald four-squares, Prospect Hill colonials, and North End wood-frames. Curved rails for the Dayton Lane Queen Anne and Second Empire mansions with mid-landing turns run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is fabricated to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor stoop and hillside rails run $4,000 to $7,500.

Does living in a National Register historic district change the price?

No. Equipment prices are identical whether your home is in Dayton Lane, German Village, Rossville, or a non-designated neighborhood. What changes is the paperwork if the install involves exterior-visible work. Interior stairlifts in historic district homes never require review because nothing is visible from the street.

Why is the disability rate in Hamilton so high — does that affect my options?

Hamilton's 16% disability rate is well above the state average, and it means the funding infrastructure is actually stronger here than in many Ohio cities. The PASSPORT Waiver, Ohio HOME Choice, and the VA HISA grant all apply in Butler County.

Do you charge a travel fee from Cincinnati?

No. Hamilton is inside our Butler County coverage area. Same pricing as a Cincinnati install, same team, no travel surcharge.

A word from Luis

Hamilton is a stairlift city whether people realize it or not. Three National Register historic districts — Dayton Lane, German Village, Rossville — filled with 1870s to 1920s Queen Anne, Italianate, and Second Empire homes where the stairs are steep, the banisters are original, and the homeowner has lived there for 30 or 40 years.

What I do: drive to your house within 24 hours, measure with a laser, and hand you a written quote honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells.
