Stairlift Service Across Broward County

Broward County, FL

From the 1920s Mediterranean Revivals of Colee Hammock and Victoria Park — terrazzo stairs, original ironwork banisters, and tile floors that punish a misstep — to the 1950s waterfront ranches of Las Olas Isles, where outdoor steps to seawall docks face direct Atlantic salt spray, our team has mapped every staircase pattern in Fort Lauderdale. Coral Ridge two-stories from the 1970s have the wide carpeted runs that make straight installs routine. Imperial Point split-levels require a curved rail at the landing turn. Tarpon River bungalows have narrow stairwells that need a compact folding seat. Rio Vista raised entries with stone pavers call for weather-sealed outdoor lifts.

Victoria Park two-story — straight rail on dark hardwood treads

Victoria Park, FL Installed March 2026

A postwar two-story in Victoria Park with dark hardwood stairs and an open-tread design that lets light through from the foyer windows. Mrs. Hastings stopped climbing after a slip on the polished oak in socks last November. We bolted the straight rail directly into the hardwood treads on the right side, color-matched the mounting brackets to the warm wood tones, and parked the beige seat at the bottom landing. The rail runs the full flight without touching the wall or the original oak banister.

Coral Ridge estate — curved rail bends around the upper landing balustrade

Coral Ridge, FL Installed February 2026

A 1978 Coral Ridge estate with a sweeping staircase and a half-wall balustrade at the upper floor. The staircase curves 90 degrees at the top landing, and Mrs. Adler needed the seat to park on the upper hallway floor — not on the top step. We laser-scanned the full run, fabricated a curved rail that bends around the balustrade, and installed a swivel-exit seat that lets her step off directly onto the upstairs hallway. A chandelier hangs above the landing and framed art lines the stairwell wall — neither was touched.

Colee Hammock cottage — straight rail beside the sideboard on stone treads

Colee Hammock, FL Installed January 2026

A compact 1930s cottage in Colee Hammock with stone-tiled stair treads, a wooden sideboard at the base of the stairs, and a potted palm the Sandovals refused to move. The stairwell is narrow by modern standards — typical of pre-war Fort Lauderdale construction. We fitted a straight rail tight against the wall, drilled into the stone substrate, and positioned the brown-upholstered seat so it parks flush beside the sideboard at the bottom without blocking the hallway. The traditional Mediterranean feel of the entry is unchanged.

Las Olas Isles porch entry — outdoor lift on natural stone paving

Las Olas Isles, FL Installed December 2025

The Davidson home on Las Olas Isles has a raised front porch with rough natural stone paving at the entry and five exterior steps from the driveway to the front door. Mr. Davidson uses a walker and the uneven stone surface made the porch steps dangerous in wet weather. We anchored a weather-sealed outdoor rail into the stone substrate, mounted a cream-colored seat rated for direct sun and rain exposure, and sealed every fastener with marine-grade stainless against the Atlantic salt air that drifts off the Intracoastal six blocks east.

Imperial Point split-level — straight rail on carpet-covered treads

Imperial Point, FL Installed November 2025

A 1968 split-level in Imperial Point with carpeted stairs from the entry landing to the upper bedrooms. Mrs. Wallace's daughter called from Atlanta after her mother stopped sleeping upstairs. We drilled through the carpet pile into the wooden treads beneath, mounted a brown-upholstered seat that blends with the carpet tones, and installed a swivel-exit at the upper landing so she steps onto the tiled hallway floor instead of the top carpeted step. The battery backup rode through a September storm outage without a hitch.

Platform Lift

Rio Vista townhome — indoor wheelchair platform lift with safety edges

Rio Vista, FL Installed October 2025

Mr. Morales is a full-time wheelchair user after a spinal injury and needed access between the ground-floor entry and the main living level in their Rio Vista townhome — a five-foot vertical rise a seated stairlift could not serve. We installed an inclined indoor platform lift with a flat black anti-slip deck, yellow high-visibility safety edges around the full perimeter, a white handrail, and interlocked gates at both levels. The orange-toned stairwell walls and window light make the space feel residential, not clinical. His HISA grant through VA Miami covered the equipment cost.

Common Questions

Everything Fort Lauderdale Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift actually cost in Broward County right now?

Straight rails in standard Fort Lauderdale homes — the Coral Ridge two-stories, the Imperial Point ranches, the Tarpon River bungalows — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, common in Victoria Park and Colee Hammock pre-war homes with landing turns and terrazzo treads, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your staircase geometry. Outdoor models for waterfront entries and seawall-dock access in Las Olas Isles and Lauderdale Isles run $4,000 to $7,500 with full salt-air hardware included.

Are prices different in Fort Lauderdale than Miami or West Palm Beach?

Equipment prices are the same across South Florida — we don't inflate quotes for Las Olas Isles or Rio Vista addresses. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: preserving terrazzo and ironwork in pre-war Victoria Park homes, HOA submission timelines in the beach-side condo towers, and the heavier salt-air hardware required for waterfront properties with direct Intracoastal exposure.

Does salt air really damage stairlifts that badly?

Yes — and most national chain installers don't spec for it. Fort Lauderdale sits on the Atlantic coast with a canal network that puts salt moisture within reach of every address in the city. Standard zinc-plated hardware pits within 3-4 seasons. Standard motor housings corrode internally within two years of coastal exposure. Every Fort Lauderdale install ships with stainless-steel fasteners, sealed IP54 motor housings, and marine-grade rail coating as standard.

Any hidden fees for condo or HOA buildings?

Our quote includes the HOA paperwork we handle for you — we've worked with 50+ Broward County buildings from the Galt Ocean Mile high-rises to the Las Olas condo towers, so submission templates are already prepared. What can occasionally add cost is when a building requires its own engineer's letter or a separate architectural review board submission.

A word from Luis

Most Fort Lauderdale families call me after something has already happened — a slip on the tile stairs in a Rio Vista waterfront home, a parent who hasn't been upstairs in months after a fall, a son in New York calling because his father in Victoria Park refuses to leave the house he's owned since 1979 even though the salt air is rusting the porch railings.

My job is simple: get to your house within 24 hours, measure once, and give you a price that's honored for 30 days. No pressure. No follow-up calls. If you're a veteran, I'll have the HISA paperwork started before I leave your driveway.
