Straight

Oak Tread Straight Rail in McAlisterville Rancher

McAlisterville, PA Installed March 2026

The Kratzer family's 1978 rancher in McAlisterville had oak treads worn smooth by forty years of use. Their mother could no longer manage the fourteen steps to the second floor. Luis installed a straight rail with the beige Belmont seat — rail bolted to the treads, not the wall. The whole job took three hours from van to test ride.

Switchback Curved Rail at Oakland Mills Farmhouse

Oakland Mills, PA Installed February 2026

The Yoders' two-story in Oakland Mills had a switchback staircase with a 90-degree turn at the upper landing beneath a crystal chandelier. Luis laser-measured the turn on site, and the custom-bent curved rail arrived three weeks later. The brown upholstered seat parks at the top floor — the homeowner can reach all three bedrooms without touching the stairs.

Narrow Stone-Tread Install in Bunkertown Cottage

Bunkertown, PA Installed April 2026

In Bunkertown, the Hesses' compact cottage had stone-tread stairs barely 30 inches wide. Their father had been sleeping in the living room for six months. Luis fit a straight rail with the brown seat onto those narrow treads — the compact carriage hugged the wall tight. The install ran just under four hours, and the stone treads took the bolts cleanly.

Outdoor

Weather-Sealed Outdoor Lift on Swales Farmhouse Porch

Swales, PA Installed November 2025

The Millers' Swales farmhouse has a stone-paved back porch with five steps down to the yard — the only entry without a full flight of stairs. Luis installed the cream outdoor stairlift with the IP55 weather-sealed carriage. Snow and freeze-thaw are routine in this part of Juniata County; the sealed motor housing handles both. The install took a morning.

Carpeted Stair Straight Rail in Cocolamus Split-Level

Cocolamus, PA Installed May 2026

The Hoovers' Cocolamus split-level had carpeted stairs — beige pile over pine treads — leading up from a tiled entryway. Luis mounted the brown-seat straight rail onto the treads through the carpet, anchoring into the pine beneath. No drywall work, no electrical changes. The seat color blended with the carpet, and the whole install ran three hours.

Wheelchair Platform Lift Near East Juniata High School

Route 35 Corridor, PA Installed January 2026

Luis installed the inclined platform lift with the flat black deck and yellow safety edges. The 600-pound carriage carries the wheelchair and rider. Indoor install, white handrail, five-hour job.

Common Questions

Everything Fayette Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a straight stairlift cost in Fayette, PA?

A straight stairlift in Fayette Township starts at $2,800 installed. That covers the rail, the Belmont seat with retractable arms, battery backup, and the full install — typically 3 to 4 hours. The price is the same whether you're in McAlisterville, Oakland Mills, or any of the five township communities. Curved stairlifts, which need a custom-bent rail for turns or landings, start at $9,000. Outdoor units for porch or exterior steps start at $4,000. Heavy-duty platform lifts for wheelchair users start at $5,050.

Are there hidden fees for stairlift installation in rural Juniata County?

No. We do not charge travel fees for Fayette Township or anywhere in Juniata County — including Swales, Bunkertown, Cocolamus, and Oakland Mills. The price quoted at the in-home assessment is the price you pay. That covers the rail, carriage, seat, battery backup, labor, and the 5-year warranty with lifetime rail coverage. If your staircase has an unusual tread material — stone, tile, or thick carpet over pine — the bolt-through mounting adjusts on site at no extra cost.

How much is a curved stairlift for a staircase with a landing in Fayette?

Curved stairlifts in Fayette Township start at $9,000. Every curved rail is custom-bent to your exact stair geometry after a laser measurement on site — we do not use modular sections. The measurement takes about an hour. The rail arrives in three to four weeks and installs in a single day. If your staircase has multiple turns — a 90-degree bend at the landing plus a second turn at the top — the price may increase based on the number of bends. Luis gives you an exact figure at the assessment.

Can I finance a stairlift in Fayette, PA?

Yes. Financing starts at $79 per month through our third-party lender. The application takes about ten minutes at the assessment and most approvals come through same-day. No prepayment penalty — pay it off early if you want. This is the same financing whether you're getting a $2,800 straight rail or a $9,000 curved install. We also help families work through the Community HealthChoices waiver, HISA grant for veterans, and the PHFA ACCESS Home Modification loan program.

A word from Luis

Most of the homes I install in around here sit on a few acres — older two-story farmhouses with a full staircase to the second floor, or 1970s split-levels where the bedrooms are all upstairs. I've run rail up narrow staircases in McAlisterville colonials where you can touch both walls at once, and put curved units in Oakland Mills homes with a 90-degree turn at the landing. The treads are nearly always oak or pine — bolt-through mounting takes about three hours on those.

What I tell families out here: the freeze-thaw winters mean the outdoor units need the weather-sealed carriage. We've got outdoor installs on back-porch steps in Swales and Bunkertown. The rail and carriage are IP55-rated. Snow and ice don't stop them. And for heavy-duty needs — the 600-pound platform lift — we've done those too, mostly for wheelchair users in single-story ranchers where the garage entry has three or four steps.
