Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Suffolk County

Suffolk County, NY

We install across Farmingville's Town of Brookhaven housing mix — Bald Hill colonials at Long Island's highest elevation, The Arboretum townhome community off Maple Lane, Fairfield Hills apartments and townhouses on Overlook Drive, the split-levels along Horseblock Road, homes along North Ocean Avenue, and the newer developments near Expressway Plaza. We also serve streets off County Road 83. The housing mix runs from 1960s split-levels with narrow winder stairs to 2010s townhomes with code-compliant 7-inch risers. Salt-air from the Great South Bay and nor'easter exposure mean every outdoor rail needs IP55 sealing and marine-grade hardware.

Common Questions

Everything Farmingville Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a straight stairlift cost in Farmingville, NY?

Straight rails in Farmingville start at $2,800 installed for a standard 13-step run — typical in Arboretum townhomes and Bald Hill colonials. Financing runs from $79/month over 60 months. Curved rails for older Horseblock Road split-levels run $9,000 and up because the rail is factory-bent to your scan.

Does Medicare pay for a stairlift in Suffolk County?

No — traditional Medicare (Parts A and B) does not cover stairlifts, and that's consistent across Farmingville and all of Suffolk County. Some Medicare Advantage plans offer a one-time home modification allowance under supplemental benefits. We help verify your plan before we quote.

Are there hidden costs I should ask any Farmingville installer about?

Three things to check: (1) electrical outlet at the top landing — older 1960s Horseblock Road splits may need a licensed Suffolk County electrician, adding $250-450; (2) stair runner removal and re-stretch on carpeted runs; (3) drywall patching around the top-landing swivel. Our written quote itemizes all three.

Is a stairlift tax-deductible in New York State?

If a physician prescribes the stairlift as medically necessary, the equipment and installation count as a deductible medical expense on federal Schedule A, subject to the 7.5% AGI threshold. New York State follows federal itemization. Keep the prescription letter and the paid invoice.

A word from Luis

I've been installing stairlifts across Suffolk County for more than 15 years, and Farmingville has the most varied housing stock on the Ronkonkoma Moraine. The split-levels off Horseblock Road have stair geometry that's nothing like the 1980s colonials up on Bald Hill Road, and the Arboretum townhomes are different again. I scan before I quote.

Long Island Sound is about eight miles north of Bald Hill — close enough that salt-air from the Sound reaches Farmingville on a north wind. Any outdoor rail I install from Overlook Drive to North Ocean Avenue gets marine-grade stainless hardware and an IP55-sealed enclosure. Nor'easters at this elevation hit hard enough that a standard outdoor cover won't survive two winters without corrosion at the fasteners.

— Luis Ramírez, Farmingville
Your Next Step

Ready to get started? It's simple.

Farmingville sits on the Ronkonkoma Moraine at Long Island's highest elevation and serves as the Town of Brookhaven's government seat. The housing ranges from 1960s split-levels to brand-new Arboretum townhomes, and a stairlift install has to account for both the tight winder stairs of older homes and the code-straight geometry of new builds.

We quote in person, handle the NY NHTD Waiver paperwork for Medicaid-eligible seniors, and coordinate VA HISA submissions with the Northport VA Medical Center at 79 Middleville Road, Northport, and the Patchogue VA Clinic at 4 Phyllis Drive, Patchogue. Straight rails install in a day; curved rails take four to five weeks because the rail is factory-bent to your stair scan.
