Stairlift Service Across Snohomish County

Snohomish County, WA

From the 1910s craftsman bungalows on Rucker Hill — where original fir treads and hand-turned newel posts make every install a preservation exercise — to the 1970s split-levels in Boulevard Bluffs where 90° landing turns require custom curved rails, our team has measured staircases across every Everett neighborhood. We know which Delta cottages have postwar river-rock wainscoting requiring opposite-side rail mounting, which Bayside homes need marine-grade stainless for Port Gardner Bay salt air, and which Lowell two-stories have narrow 32-inch hallways that demand a slim-profile fold-away seat. We also cover Northwest Everett and the Boeing-adjacent housing south of 41st Street.

1918 Rucker Hill craftsman — straight rail on original fir hardwood treads

Rucker Hill, WA Installed March 2026

A 1918 craftsman bungalow on Rucker Hill with original Douglas fir hardwood treads, a hand-turned newel post, and decorative shingle siding the homeowner maintains herself at 78. Mrs. Lindgren tripped on the top tread in January and caught herself on the banister. We color-matched the rail mount covers to the existing fir stain and bolted into the treads only, never touching the original newel post or carved brackets. The folding seat parks flat against the wall — her neighbor walked through two weeks later and asked where we hid the stairlift.

Boulevard Bluffs split-level — curved rail with L-turn at upper landing

Boulevard Bluffs, WA Installed February 2026

A 1972 split-level in Boulevard Bluffs with the classic Snohomish County layout — five steps from the entry to the main level, an L-shaped turn at the landing, then nine steps up to the bedrooms. Mr. Nguyen is a retired Boeing machinist with bilateral knee osteoarthritis from 31 years on the Everett assembly line. Two other companies quoted two separate rails with a mid-landing transfer. We laser-scanned the full run, fabricated one continuous curved rail, and installed a swivel-exit seat at the top so he steps off onto the hallway carpet. He went upstairs four times the first evening because he could finally get to his workbench in the spare bedroom.

Delta neighborhood cottage — straight rail alongside river-rock wainscoting

Delta, WA Installed January 2026

A 1948 worker’s cottage in the Delta neighborhood with stone treads and a river-rock wainscoting accent along the stairwell — a detail from the postwar construction boom when Everett’s mills were running full capacity. The compact traditional layout has a wooden sideboard at the base of the stairs. Mr. Patterson is 81, recovering from a fall. We mounted the rail on the opposite side from the stone wainscoting to preserve the original character and had the lift operational before he was discharged from Providence Regional. His PT cleared him for independent living the same week.

Bayside porch entry — marine-grade outdoor lift on stone-paver steps

Bayside, WA Installed December 2025

A Bayside home three blocks from Port Gardner Bay with a raised front porch, seven exterior steps over stone pavers, and direct exposure to salt-laden marine air. Mr. Kowalski is a Korean War-era veteran who qualified for a HISA grant through the Everett VA Clinic on Olympic Boulevard. We anchored the weather-resistant cream seat’s outdoor rail into the concrete substrate beneath the stone paving using marine-grade stainless bolts and sealed the motor housing to IP55. The lift has run through an entire Pacific Northwest winter without a service call. He rides it to his front porch chair every morning to watch the container ships in the bay.

Lowell two-story — straight rail over carpet, narrow hallway solved

Lowell, WA Installed November 2025

A 1985 two-story in the Lowell neighborhood with wall-to-wall carpet on every tread and a 32-inch-wide hallway at the top landing. Mrs. Erickson had been scooting down the stairs on her backside every morning since her second knee replacement at Providence Regional. The rail bolts through the carpet into the wood treads beneath — no cutting, no adhesive, no visible carpet damage. The brown upholstery matches the carpet tones. At the top, the slim-profile fold-away seat tucks to just 11 inches from the wall, keeping the narrow hallway passable. She has not scooted once since November.

Platform Lift

Riverside home — indoor inclined wheelchair platform lift with safety-yellow edges

Riverside, WA Installed October 2025

Mr. Olsen is a full-time power-chair user after an ALS diagnosis, living in a 1960s two-story in the Riverside neighborhood near the Snohomish River. A seated stairlift was ruled out — he needs to ride his power chair directly onto the platform. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift with a flat black anti-slip deck and yellow high-visibility safety edges along the indoor stairway. The white handrail runs the length of the platform track against the orange-toned walls. The COPES waiver through DSHS covered the full cost — the family paid nothing out of pocket.

Common Questions

Everything Everett Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Everett right now?

Straight rails in the craftsman bungalows on Rucker Hill, the worker cottages in Delta, and the two-stories across Lowell run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails — needed for the split-level landing turns common in Boulevard Bluffs and south Everett — run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models with marine-grade coating for Bayside and Northwest Everett homes run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes marine-grade coating for any address west of I-5.

Do waterfront homes in Bayside cost more to install?

The marine-grade rail coating and stainless fasteners are standard on every Everett install west of I-5 — not a premium add-on. Some national chains quote a base price and tack on $400–$600 for ‘coastal upgrade packages’ after the home visit. We include it from the start. The price difference between a Bayside waterfront home and a Lowell two-story comes down to staircase geometry and whether you need an outdoor or indoor unit — not the neighborhood.

Are prices different in Everett than Seattle or Bellevue?

Equipment prices are the same across Snohomish, King, and Pierce counties. What varies is the staircase. A 1918 Rucker Hill craftsman with steep, narrow fir treads is a different install than a 2015 townhouse in Bellevue with wide, level stairs. The staircase drives the price, not the city. We break out every line item during the free assessment — rail length, mount type, coating spec, labor hours — so you see exactly what you’re paying for.

Is a used or refurbished stairlift worth considering in Everett?

For straight staircases, a certified refurbished unit can save 30–40% — we carry factory-reconditioned rails with new upholstery, new batteries, and a 2-year warranty. Every refurbished unit installed in Snohomish County gets the marine-grade coating if your home is west of I-5. For curved rails, refurbished is almost never available because each rail is custom-manufactured. Ask during the assessment.

A word from Luis

Most Everett families call after the same realization — the craftsman bungalow on Rucker Hill that was perfect at 45 has a staircase that’s become impossible at 75. The steep, narrow treads in those 1910s and 1920s homes were built for mill workers, not for someone recovering from a knee replacement at Providence Regional.

I drive to your house within 24 hours, measure the staircase with a laser, and give you a price that’s honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. If your home is west of I-5 and the salt air off Port Gardner Bay is a factor, I spec the marine-grade coating from the start — not as a $400 add-on.
