Stairlift Service Across San Diego County

San Diego County, CA

From the 900 homes inside the Old Escondido Historic District — craftsman bungalows, Victorians, and Art Deco residences dating to the 1880s along the blocks between 4th Avenue and 13th — to the 1970s ranch split-levels in Country Club and Rincon del Diablo where mid-landing turns make curved rails a necessity, our team has mapped every staircase profile in the city. We know which Kit Carson homes have the raised flagstone entries that need outdoor weather-sealed rails, which Park Avenue bungalows sit two blocks from the senior center and install in three hours flat, and which Felicita hillside homes have the steep interior stairs that require reinforced mounting brackets. Because we also cover San Marcos, Valley Center, and Hidden Meadows from the same North County team, you never wait on a tech driving up from downtown San Diego.

1920s Old Escondido craftsman — straight rail on original oak treads

Old Escondido Historic District, CA Installed March 2026

A 1924 craftsman bungalow inside the Old Escondido Historic District — one of 900 homes in the district bounded by 4th Avenue and Escondido Boulevard. Mrs. Delgado's daughter called from Oceanside after her mother fell on the second step coming down from the bedrooms. The oak treads were original, refinished twice in a century, and the family did not want a single unnecessary hole. We bolted a straight rail directly into the stair treads using the existing tread thickness — no wall anchors, no banister contact, no damage to the 1920s quarter-sawn oak. The rail color was matched to the honey-tone finish so it blends into the woodwork when the seat is folded.

Country Club ranch — curved rail with 90° landing turn to upper bedrooms

Country Club, CA Installed February 2026

A 1972 ranch-style home in the Country Club neighborhood east of Centre City Parkway with a split-level floor plan — six steps up from the sunken living room, a 90° landing, then eight more to the bedrooms. Two other companies told the Nguyens they needed two separate lifts, one for each flight. We laser-scanned the full staircase in one visit, fabricated a single curved rail that threads the landing turn, and installed a swivel-exit seat at the upper hallway so Mrs. Nguyen steps off onto flat floor instead of the top tread. One ride, zero transfers. The rail clears the landing wall by four inches — tight, but precise.

Rincon del Diablo cottage — straight rail on stone-and-stucco interior stair

Rincon del Diablo, CA Installed January 2026

A stucco cottage on a one-acre lot in Rincon del Diablo — the semi-rural southeast pocket of Escondido named for the original 1843 Mexican land grant. The interior staircase has decorative stone facing on the risers and Mexican tile at the base, built during a 1990s remodel. Standard rail brackets would have cracked the tile. We used offset mounting plates bolted into the wooden tread substrate beneath the stone veneer, keeping every visible tile intact. Mr. Hoffman is a retired Navy chief who served at Naval Base San Diego — he qualified for a HISA grant through the Escondido VA Clinic on East Valley Parkway, and we prefilled VA Form 10-0103 the same day we measured.

Kit Carson neighborhood — outdoor lift on flagstone porch entry

Kit Carson, CA Installed December 2025

A raised-entry ranch near Kit Carson Park with seven exterior steps, flagstone paving, and a mature jacaranda dropping blossoms across the landing from April through June. Mrs. Sandoval stopped using the front door entirely after a hip replacement and had been entering through the garage for three months. We mounted a weather-sealed outdoor rail along the stone entry steps, added UV-resistant coating rated for the 300+ days of direct sun Escondido averages, and installed a debris guard on the rail track to keep jacaranda petals and leaf litter out of the gearing. The motor housing is sealed to IP55 — it handled the December rains and the February Santa Ana dust without a service call.

Park Avenue bungalow — straight rail on carpeted stairs, same-day install

Park Avenue, CA Installed November 2025

A single-story-over-basement bungalow two blocks from the Park Avenue Community Center — Escondido's senior center that serves 400 to 500 older adults daily. Mr. Castillo's bedroom is upstairs, his kitchen and the senior center shuttle pickup are downstairs, and the carpeted staircase between them had become the bottleneck of his entire day. His case coordinator at the San Diego County Aging & Independence Services office referred him to us. We installed a straight rail over the existing carpet — no carpet removal, no tread refinishing — in under three hours. The rail bolts through the carpet into the wooden substructure beneath.

Platform Lift

Felicita home — inclined wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Felicita, CA Installed October 2025

A two-story home near Felicita Park where Mrs. Reyes uses a power wheelchair full-time after a spinal cord injury. A seated stairlift was not an option — she needed to ride her chair between floors. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift along the indoor stairway — a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges on every moving surface, a white handrail on the wall side, and automatic folding ramps at both landings. The platform rides the stair angle on a rail bolted to the treads, carrying Mrs. Reyes and her chair from the ground floor to the upper hallway without transferring. The family's two teenage sons still use the stairs normally — the platform folds flat against the wall when not in use.

Common Questions

Everything Escondido Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Escondido right now?

Straight rails in standard Escondido homes — the bungalows in Old Escondido, the ranches along Centre City Parkway, the newer builds near Westfield North County — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, which you'll need for most 1970s Country Club and Rincon del Diablo split-level ranches, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is fabricated to your exact staircase measurements. Outdoor models for raised front porches and flagstone entries run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes rail, seat, battery backup, installation, and the first service visit.

Are Escondido prices higher than other parts of San Diego County?

Equipment prices are identical across every zip code we serve in San Diego County — we do not inflate quotes for coastal addresses or discount for inland ones. What can vary slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: offset mounting on stone-veneer treads in Rincon del Diablo cottages, tight clearances in narrow 1920s Historic District stairwells, or debris guards on outdoor installs under heavy tree canopy. We itemize every line on the quote so you see exactly what you're paying for.

Is the assessment really free?

Yes. A certified installer drives to your home, measures with a laser, walks your staircase with you, answers every question, and leaves you with a written quote. No charge for the visit, no obligation to buy, no follow-up pressure calls. The quote is good for 30 days. If you want to compare with another company or talk it over with family first, the number doesn't change.

Is a refurbished stairlift worth considering in Escondido?

For straight staircases, a certified refurbished unit can save 30–40% off the new price. We carry factory-reconditioned straight rails with new upholstery, new batteries, and a 2-year warranty. Every refurbished unit includes the same UV-spec hardware as a new install — important for outdoor applications in Escondido's inland sun. Curved rails are custom-fabricated to your staircase, so refurbished curved units almost never fit a different home. Ask during the assessment and we'll tell you if a refurb matches your stair geometry.

A word from Luis

Most Escondido calls start the same way — someone's parent slipped on the stairs in an Old Escondido craftsman, or a retired Marine in Rincon del Diablo hasn't been upstairs since his last knee surgery. I drive out from the San Diego office, measure your staircase, and hand you a written quote before I leave. No pressure. No callbacks from a sales manager. If you want to talk it over with your family in Tijuana or Oceanside first, the price is good for 30 days. En español si lo prefiere.
