Stairlift Service Across Los Angeles County

Los Angeles County, CA

From the hillside bungalows of City Terrace — where steep lots mean exterior concrete steps that are often the primary accessibility barrier, not the interior staircase — to the 1940s stucco homes along Ford Boulevard and Rowan Avenue in Belvedere, where narrow interior stairs and low ceilings require slim-profile rail mounts, our team has measured every block in East LA. We know which Maravilla streets have the postwar duplexes with shared stairwells that need landlord-coordination paperwork, which El Repetto ranch homes have the wide post-1960 stairs that install in three hours flat, and which City Terrace hillside lots need a combined indoor-outdoor assessment because the walk from the street to the front door is a staircase in itself.

1948 City Terrace bungalow — straight rail on original hardwood oak treads

City Terrace, CA Installed March 2026

A 1948 stucco bungalow on a hillside lot in City Terrace with original red oak treads and a dark-stained banister that Sra. Delgado's late husband had refinished himself in the 1980s. Her daughter drove from Montebello every weekend to help her mother get upstairs to the bedroom — a routine that had been going on for eight months before the daughter found us online. Luis conducted the entire assessment in Spanish at the kitchen table, measured the 14-step straight run with a laser, and quoted on the spot. We color-matched the rail brackets to the existing oak stain so the lift blends with the original woodwork. Sra. Delgado rode it alone for the first time the afternoon we finished and called her daughter to say she didn't need Saturday help anymore.

L-shaped staircase in a 1952 Belvedere duplex — curved rail with upper landing turn

Belvedere, CA Installed February 2026

A 1952 duplex off Ford Boulevard in Belvedere with an L-shaped staircase — nine steps up, a 90-degree turn at the landing, then five more steps to the upper hallway. Two other companies told the Sandovals they'd need two separate straight lifts with a transfer at the landing. We laser-scanned the full run during the first visit, fabricated a single curved rail that carries you from the ground floor to the upper hallway in one continuous ride, and added a swivel-exit seat at the top so Mrs. Sandoval steps off onto the hallway floor instead of the top tread. The stairwell is only 32 inches wide — we used slim-profile mounting brackets so the rail tucks against the wall and leaves enough clearance for Mr. Sandoval to walk past when the chair is parked.

Maravilla cottage with stone-tile entry — straight rail from foyer to second floor

Maravilla, CA Installed January 2026

A compact 1950s cottage in Maravilla with stone-tile flooring at the base of the staircase and painted wood treads going up. The Gutiérrez family's grandfather had been sleeping on a foldout couch in the living room for four months because the 12-step run to the bedrooms had become impossible after a knee replacement at LAC+USC Medical Center. The stone tile at the base meant we needed to anchor the bottom rail bracket into masonry — a different fastener set than standard wood-floor mounting. We drilled, anchored, and installed the full straight rail in three hours. Abuelo was back in his own bed that same night.

City Terrace hillside — outdoor lift on stone-paved front entry steps

City Terrace, CA Installed December 2025

A hillside lot in City Terrace where the walk from the street to the front door is a full flight of 10 concrete steps with a stone-paved landing halfway up. Mr. Ochoa is a Korean War-era veteran enrolled at the East LA VA Clinic on Olympic Boulevard in Commerce — he qualified for a HISA grant that covered most of the cost. We prefilled VA Form 10-0103, the prescription came back from his VA provider in four weeks, and installation was authorized the week after. The outdoor rail is anchored into the stone-paved steps with stainless-steel expansion bolts, sealed against Southern California's Santa Ana dust and UV exposure. The cream-colored weather-resistant seat sits at the stone entry landing. Mr. Ochoa uses it twice a day — once to get the mail, once to sit on his porch in the evening.

El Repetto ranch — straight rail over carpeted treads, same-day install

El Repetto, CA Installed November 2025

A 1960s ranch home in El Repetto with wall-to-wall carpet on every step — the plush beige carpet the family installed in the 1990s and never replaced. Mrs. Lara's daughter was worried we'd have to pull the carpet up to bolt the rail down. We didn't. The rail mounts through the carpet directly into the wood substructure beneath, and the bracket footprint is small enough that if the lift is ever removed, a carpet patch covers the holes completely. The wide 36-inch staircase made this the fastest install of the month — 2.5 hours from first drill to final walkthrough. The brown-upholstered seat blends with the carpet tones at the landing where the carpeted stairs meet the tiled ground floor.

Platform Lift

Ford Boulevard home — indoor inclined wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Belvedere, CA Installed October 2025

A 1955 home along Ford Boulevard where Mr. Morales returned from Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center in Downey using a full-time wheelchair after spinal surgery. A seated stairlift was not an option because he cannot transfer out of the chair safely. We installed an indoor inclined wheelchair platform lift alongside the existing staircase — a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges, white handrails, and a keyed lockout so the grandchildren cannot operate it unsupervised. The platform carries Mr. Morales and his wheelchair from the ground floor to the upper hallway in a single inclined ride along the stairway. Orange-toned interior walls and natural window light frame the installation. His occupational therapist from Rancho Los Amigos visited the home two weeks after installation and cleared him for independent use.

Common Questions

Everything East Los Angeles Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in East Los Angeles right now?

Straight rails in standard East LA homes — the stucco bungalows along Ford Boulevard, the ranch homes in El Repetto, the duplexes in Belvedere — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for City Terrace hillside homes with mid-landing turns or L-shaped staircases run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact geometry. Outdoor lifts for concrete front steps — extremely common on hillside lots — run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Do you charge extra for Spanish-language service?

No. Every East LA assessment can be conducted entirely in Spanish — Luis is bilingual and has walked dozens of families in Maravilla, City Terrace, and Belvedere through every line of the paperwork in their preferred language. Every printed quote, consent form, and operating manual is available in Spanish. Zero surcharge. For the communities along Whittier Boulevard and Ford Boulevard, it's simply how we do business.

Are prices different on hillside lots in City Terrace?

Equipment prices are the same across Los Angeles County — we don't inflate quotes based on your address. What can vary is install labor for unusual conditions: exterior concrete steps on hillside lots in City Terrace that need outdoor-rated rail and weatherproofing, narrow 30-inch stairwells in Belvedere duplexes that require slim-profile mounting, or older homes where we need to add a dedicated 120V outlet for the charging station. We itemize everything upfront.

Any hidden fees for duplex or multi-unit installs?

Our quote includes the landlord-coordination paperwork we handle for you. Many East LA stairlifts go into renter-occupied duplexes where the property owner lives elsewhere — we prepare the modification-request letter, handle the reasonable-accommodation documentation under California's FEHA, and coordinate the install schedule with your landlord. If the unit is a condo with an HOA, the same FEHA packet applies. No surprise fees.

A word from Luis

Most East LA families call me after a fall — or a near-miss — on the concrete front steps of a 1940s stucco bungalow, or inside a narrow hallway staircase in a Belvedere duplex where abuela hasn't been upstairs in months. I've measured staircases in City Terrace where the hillside lot means a full flight of exterior steps just to reach the front door, and in Maravilla where the conversation happens entirely in Spanish because that's what the family is comfortable with.

Here's what I do: drive out within 24 hours, measure your stairs with a laser, and hand you a written quote good for 30 days. No pressure. No gimmicks. En español si lo prefiere.
