Stairlift Service Across Baltimore County

Baltimore County, MD

From Old Dundalk — the original 1918 Emergency Fleet Corporation houses along Dundalk Avenue, where narrow interior stairs were built for shipyard workers decades before anyone thought about accessibility — to Charlesmont and West Inverness, where postwar brick duplexes line every block with tight quarter-landing turns, our team has measured staircases in every corner of this CDP. We know which Gray Haven row units have the 12-step straight runs that install in three hours flat, which North Point Village three-stories need stacked rail runs with a mid-landing transfer, and which Eastfield and Battle Grove ranches have the split-level entry that surprises every first-time visitor. We also cover Essex, Rosedale, Middle River, Edgemere, Rossville, and Overlea without travel fees.

Charlesmont brick duplex — straight rail on dark oak treads in a 32-inch stairwell

Charlesmont, MD Installed March 2026

A 1948 brick duplex on Dunmanway in Charlesmont — the classic Dundalk staircase: 13 steep treads of dark-stained oak, 32 inches between the plaster wall and the original pine banister. Mrs. Kovalchik, a 76-year-old widow whose late husband was a Sparrows Point millwright, had been sleeping on the couch for three weeks after a fall on the top landing. We specified the slim-profile rail, bolted it into the hardwood treads against the banister side, and parked the seat flush at the bottom landing so the hallway stays clear. She went upstairs that night for the first time in a month.

1964 Eastfield split-level — curved rail sweeping from the sunken living room to the upper hallway

Eastfield, MD Installed February 2026

A 1964 split-level ranch in Eastfield — six steps from the sunken living room to the main level, a mid-landing with a 90-degree turn, then eight more steps to the bedrooms. Two other companies quoted two separate straight rails with a transfer at the landing. We laser-scanned the full staircase, fabricated a single curved rail that carries Mr. Stancavage from his recliner level to the bedroom hallway in one continuous ride, and installed a swivel-exit seat at the top so he steps off onto the hallway carpet. The seat parks at the upper landing with the framed family photos on the wall behind it.

Gray Haven row unit — straight rail in a compact traditional stairwell with stone-tile treads

Gray Haven, MD Installed January 2026

A 1944 brick row unit in Gray Haven with a compact interior staircase — 11 stone-tile treads next to a wooden sideboard where Mrs. Parrish keeps her late husband's service photos and a potted fern. The treads are original tile over concrete, typical of wartime Gray Haven construction. We mounted the straight rail along the wall side, bolted into the stone treads with masonry anchors, and parked the brown-upholstered seat at the bottom landing next to the cabinet. The tight space left no room for error — the folded seat clears the sideboard by four inches.

North Point Village — outdoor lift on a stone-paved covered porch entry

North Point Village, MD Installed December 2025

A three-story attached row unit in North Point Village where the covered front porch had six stone-paved steps up from the sidewalk — the main barrier keeping Mrs. Grabowski's mother from leaving the house independently. We anchored the outdoor rail into the natural stone paving with marine-grade stainless masonry bolts, sealed the motor housing to IP55, and spec'd the weather-resistant cream seat with a UV-stabilized cover for Baltimore County's freeze-thaw winters. A keyed call station at the sidewalk lets her summon the chair from below.

Old Dundalk — straight rail on carpeted stairs in a 1919 Emergency Fleet Corporation house

Old Dundalk, MD Installed November 2025

One of the original 1919 Emergency Fleet Corporation houses on Dundalk Avenue — the interior staircase was designed narrow for shipyard workers. Mr. DiStefano, 84, a retired BGE lineman, had been scooting down on his backside for months. The stairs had been carpeted wall-to-wall decades ago, the brown carpet matching the warm tones of the landing. We fitted the slim-profile rail against the wall side, mounted through the carpet into the treads beneath, and parked the brown-upholstered seat at the landing where it blends with the carpet tones. He stood up at the top and said it was the first time he'd been upright on the second floor since July.

Platform Lift

Battle Grove duplex — inclined wheelchair platform lift for a retired Sparrows Point ironworker

Battle Grove, MD Installed October 2025

A 1952 brick duplex in Battle Grove. Mr. Wojcik, 78, retired from Sparrows Point after 36 years as an ironworker, uses a wheelchair full-time and cannot transfer to a seated stairlift. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift on his indoor stairway — a flat black anti-slip platform with high-visibility yellow safety edges and a white handrail, wide enough for his wheelchair to roll on and lock in place. The terracotta-painted walls of the stairwell frame the unit against the window light. He rides from the entry level to the bedroom floor without ever leaving his chair.

Common Questions

Everything Dundalk Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Dundalk right now?

Straight rails inside a standard Dundalk brick duplex or row unit — the tight 12-to-14-tread interior runs in Charlesmont, Gray Haven, North Point Village, Battle Grove — run $2,800 to $5,400 installed. That covers about 70% of the work we do in Dundalk because the postwar housing stock is almost entirely straight-run interiors. Curved rails for split-level ranches in Eastfield or older homes with landing turns run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is fabricated to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor lifts anchored into concrete front stoops run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are Dundalk prices different from Baltimore City or Towson?

Equipment prices are identical across the metro. We do not discount for Dundalk or inflate for Roland Park — the rail, the seat, and the motor cost us the same regardless of the address. What varies slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: masonry anchoring into cracked concrete stoops in Gray Haven, marine-grade rail coating for waterfront addresses near Bear Creek or Sparrows Point, and BGE-compatible electrical permits in pre-1950 homes that need a new dedicated circuit. Every line item is quoted upfront. No surprise fees.

My parents are on a fixed income. Is there a payment plan?

Yes — three lending partners with 0% APR for qualified buyers and low fixed-rate plans from $79/month. Application is a soft credit pull (no hit to your score), takes about four minutes, and approval is usually instant. Many Dundalk families combine financing with a partial HISA grant, Community First Choice coverage, or the IRS medical deduction to bring the monthly payment down further. We walk you through every number at the kitchen table — on paper, not a tablet screen you can't read.

Do you charge extra for the assessment or for a second visit?

The assessment is free, the quote is free, and if you want us to come back a second time because your son wants to be there to hear the numbers, that visit is free too. We do not charge consultation fees, trip charges, or anything until you sign. The only check we cash is the one attached to a signed installation agreement with a 30-day price guarantee.

A word from Luis

Most Dundalk families call me after someone has already been sleeping downstairs for a week — a retired steelworker whose knees finally gave out on the stairs in a Charlesmont brick duplex, a widow in Gray Haven who fell on the landing and her daughter in Essex found out two days later, a veteran in North Point Village whose VA doctor told him to stop climbing stairs six months ago and he ignored the advice until he couldn't.

My job is simple: drive to your block within 24 hours, measure the stairs and the front steps, and give you a written price honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
