Haywood County is high Appalachian country on the edge of the Great Smoky Mountains, with the county seat of Waynesville at roughly 2,700 feet and Cold Mountain and the Blue Ridge Parkway rising to the south. The Pigeon River runs north through Canton, and I-40, US-23 and US-74 thread the valleys between Maggie Valley, Clyde and Lake Junaluska. Hard winters bring heavy snow, and many of the older two-story farmhouses, split-levels and steep mountain lots here make a stairlift or weather-rated outdoor lift the difference between staying home and leaving it.
We cover the whole county on one flat schedule, so a hillside home in Maggie Valley costs no more to reach than a ranch in Waynesville. No travel fees to the small towns. We serve mountain seniors and Haywood's many veterans, and we know the area is still rebuilding from Tropical Storm Fred in 2021 and the 2024 Helene flooding.
