Expert Stairlift Installation in Citrus Springs, FL

Citrus Springs was platted by the Mackle Brothers as a single planned subdivision of more than 34,000 homesites, laid out across a wide grid of streets built for single-family ranch homes rather than city blocks. With 86.3% of residents owning their homes and 22.2% already 65 or older, a lot of these houses were bought to retire in, not to flip in five years. When the stairs become the reason someone starts avoiding the second floor, a stairlift is usually the smaller move compared to leaving a paid-off house behind.

Stairlift Service Across Citrus County

Citrus County, FL

From the original Mackle Brothers subdivision lots along North Citrus Springs Boulevard and West Citrus Springs Boulevard — concrete-block ranches and split-levels on half-acre wooded parcels platted in 1969 — to the newer builds along North Lecanto Highway near the Withlacoochee State Trail, our crew has measured staircases on every street in the grid. Homes along North Elkcam Boulevard (Mackle spelled backwards) and West Hampshire Boulevard tend toward single-story ranch plans with interior stairs to converted bonus rooms. The streets near the former El Diablo Golf Course on North Sherman Drive feature larger two-story stucco homes with curved-rail-friendly geometry. Parcels along West Citrus Hills Boulevard bordering Pine Ridge often have split-level entries with four to six steps.

1987 concrete-block ranch off North Citrus Springs Boulevard — straight rail on hardwood treads

North Citrus Springs Boulevard, FL Installed March 2026

A single-story Mackle-era concrete-block ranch on a half-acre wooded lot off North Citrus Springs Boulevard. The original floor plan has an interior stairway with dark oak treads leading up to a converted bonus room above the garage — 13 steps, 32 inches wide. We bolted the slim-profile straight rail through the oak treads, parked the cream seat at the bottom landing, and confirmed the ride travels up in 22 seconds.

Two-story near El Diablo — curved rail around a 90° upper-landing turn

El Diablo area, FL Installed February 2026

An upscale two-story stucco home near the former El Diablo Golf Course on North Sherman Drive. The staircase climbs to a 90-degree turn at the upper landing. His Lecanto VA provider wrote the HISA prescription; the grant covered $6,800. Curved rails start at $9,000.

West Hampshire Boulevard cottage — straight rail on stone-tile treads beside an oak sideboard

West Hampshire Boulevard, FL Installed January 2026

A compact 1980s home on West Hampshire Boulevard with light-stone tile treads and a tight 32-inch stairwell. An oak sideboard sits at the foot of the run — the brown seat parks beside it on the bottom landing. We anchored the rail into the tile with masonry bits, kept 24 inches of clear passage, and routed the charge strip behind the sideboard. He was riding by lunchtime.

Common Questions

Everything Citrus Springs Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding, no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

How much does a stairlift typically cost for a home in Citrus Springs?

Because the original Mackle Brothers plat put most of Citrus Springs into single-story ranch homes with a short, straight interior stairway — where there's an interior stairway at all — a good share of the quotes I write here are for straight-rail units, the least expensive configuration. Two-story homes with a landing partway up need a curved rail custom-bent to that turn, which costs more and takes longer to fabricate. I won't give you a real number without measuring the actual stairs first.

With 86.3% homeownership here, does that change what people expect to pay?

It changes how people think about it more than what they actually pay. Most of Citrus Springs is owner-occupied, often by people in their retirement home rather than a starter property, so the cost of a stairlift tends to get weighed against the cost of moving or the cost of a fall, not against a landlord's budget. The affordability band here runs mid-range for this kind of work, and the FAAST New Horizon Loan Program — roughly $3,000 to $30,000, low-interest — is the option I mention most to people who'd rather spread the cost out than pay in full up front.

A word from Luis
Most of the houses I get called to out here are single-story ranches from that original Mackle Brothers plat, and that's good news for install day — a straight interior run with no landing is about the simplest rail there is to fit. What catches new clients off guard is how spread out Citrus Springs actually is: 21 square miles of subdivision streets, with the Withlacoochee State Trail cutting through on one side and the old phosphate-mine land, now the El Diablo golf course, on the other. I tell people here the same thing I'd tell my own parents — don't wait for a stumble on those front steps before you make the call.
