Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Mercer County

Mercer County, OH

From the century-old two-stories along Main Street and Fayette Street to the lakefront cottages and year-round homes around Grand Lake St. Marys, from the brick ranch homes along Havemann Road to the farmhouses on Mud Pike and State Route 29, our team has measured stairs in every corner of Celina. We know which downtown homes have the narrow 28-inch stairwells that need the compact rail and which lakefront places have the steep exterior steps down to the dock that call for an outdoor unit.

We cover all of Mercer County — Coldwater, Fort Recovery, St. Henry — plus nearby Auglaize and Van Wert counties without travel charges.

Original oak treads in a Fayette Street century home — compact rail, beige seat

Fayette Street, OH Installed March 2026

A 1905 century home on Fayette Street with original oak treads and a staircase just 29 inches wide between the plaster wall and the wooden banister. The compact-profile rail bolts directly into the hardwood treads without touching the banister or the plaster. The beige seat folds to 11 inches, leaving enough clearance for the homeowner's grandson to walk past on the stairs. Mrs. Weber rides it every day and has not needed help on the stairs since the install.

90° curved rail in a downtown Main Street two-story — brown seat at the upper landing

Main Street, OH Installed February 2026

A two-story brick building on Main Street converted to residential use with an L-shaped staircase and a 90-degree turn at the upper landing. The original ceiling light fixture hung directly in the rail path. We laser-scanned the staircase, designed the curved rail to clear the fixture by two inches, and fabricated a single continuous track from the ground floor to the upper bedrooms. The brown seat matches the existing wood trim. Mr. Ramsey's mother rides it daily without giving the light fixture a second thought.

Carpeted stairs in a Havemann Road ranch — swivel seat at the top landing

Havemann Road, OH Installed January 2026

A brick ranch on Havemann Road with a raised interior staircase to the upper level — 14 carpeted treads and a standard 36-inch-wide opening. The rail bolts through the carpet into the wooden treads beneath — no carpet removal, no pile damage. The seat swivels 90 degrees at the upper landing so Mr. Schwieterman steps off onto the hallway floor instead of balancing on the top tread. Folded flat, the seat takes up 11 inches and the staircase remains fully walkable for the rest of the family.

Outdoor

Outdoor rail on lakefront concrete steps — freeze-proof for Ohio winters

Grand Lake St. Marys, OH Installed December 2025

A lakefront cottage on Grand Lake St. Marys with twelve steep concrete steps from the driveway to the front door that ice over every winter. Mr. Homan is 79 and uses the lake house year-round. The cream-colored weather-resistant seat sits at the base of the steps, ready when he returns from errands. The freeze-proof battery rode through the January 2026 ice storm without a hiccup. Every component is galvanized and rated for Ohio's 50+ annual freeze-thaw cycles.

Hardwood treads in a Mud Pike farmhouse — slim rail beside the wooden banister

Mud Pike, OH Installed November 2025

A two-story farmhouse on Mud Pike with original hardwood treads and a wooden banister. The slim-profile rail anchors directly into the hardwood without wall contact. The tan-upholstered seat sits at the bottom of the stairs beside the family's coat rack. Folded, the seat and rail together take up just 11 inches, leaving clear passage for Mrs. Klenke's grandchildren who visit every Sunday after church. The PASSPORT waiver covered the full cost after the functional needs assessment.

Platform Lift

Indoor platform lift with yellow safety edges for a Celina veteran

State Route 29, OH Installed October 2025

A two-story frame home on State Route 29 east of Celina. Mr. Vogel is a disabled veteran who served at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and uses a power wheelchair full-time. A seated stairlift was not an option — he needed to ride his chair between floors. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift along the indoor stairway: a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges on all thresholds, white handrails, and a keyed lockout so the grandchildren who visit from Dayton cannot activate it unsupervised. The HISA grant through the Dayton VA covered $6,800 of the cost, and the PASSPORT waiver covered the remaining balance. He rolls onto the platform, presses one button, and rides to the upper floor without ever leaving his chair.

Common Questions

Everything Celina Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Celina right now?

Straight rails in standard Celina homes run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails — needed for split-landing homes and the L-shaped staircases in older downtown buildings — run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is custom-manufactured. Outdoor models with freeze-proof hardware run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Is Celina cheaper or more expensive to install in than Dayton or Lima?

Equipment prices are identical whether you live on Main Street in Celina or in suburban Dayton. We don't adjust quotes based on zip code. Where Celina families do save is on funding — the PASSPORT waiver, the VA HISA grant, and the IRS medical deduction are all heavily used here. We walk every family through the options during the free assessment.

Do older farmhouses or century homes cost more to install in?

The compact-profile rail fits staircases as narrow as 26 inches, which covers the original century homes along Main Street and Fayette Street. Narrow stairs don't increase the equipment price. Occasionally the old treads need a backing plate to distribute the bolt load, which adds $50–$100 in hardware. We tell you at the assessment, not on install day.

Is a used or refurbished stairlift worth considering?

We sell certified refurbished straight rails starting around $1,800 installed. Each unit gets a new battery, new upholstery, and a full sensor recalibration before it leaves our shop. The motor and gearbox carry a 3-year warranty. For Celina families on a tight budget, a refurb with a PASSPORT waiver reimbursement often brings the out-of-pocket to under $500.

A word from Luis

Most Celina families call after a close call on the stairs — someone slipped in the two-story farmhouse on Mud Pike, or a daughter drove in from Dayton and realized her father hasn't been upstairs in the Grand Lake cottage since the knee surgery.

Here's what I do: I drive to your house within 24 hours, measure every tread, and hand you a written quote honored for 30 days. No pressure, no upsells. The Dayton VA handles HISA grants for Mercer County veterans, and the PASSPORT waiver covers up to $15,000 a year for qualifying seniors — I've filed both dozens of times and I'll walk you through every form.
