Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across DuPage County

DuPage County, IL

From the grand two-story foyers in Falling Water — where custom-built homes from the 1990s feature sweeping curved staircases with wrought-iron balusters — to the executive colonials in Carriageway Club with their wide oak-tread center-hall stairways, our crew has measured staircases across every Burr Ridge subdivision. Burr Ridge Club homes along County Line Road have traditional straight-run stairs with hardwood treads and decorative newel posts. The Chasemoor townhomes near the Village Center feature compact three-level layouts where curved rails handle the turn between the garage level and the main floor. Kraml Drive area homes are 1970s-era ranches and bi-levels with standard basement stairs — our fastest installs. The homes along Garfield Avenue near the Cook County line have older two-story layouts with narrower treads that require precise rail placement.

Straight

Burr Ridge Club colonial — straight rail on wide oak treads

Burr Ridge Club, IL Installed March 2026

A colonial on County Line Road in the Burr Ridge Club subdivision with wide oak treads and a decorative newel post. Mrs. Whitfield had been sleeping in the first-floor guest room for a month after knee replacement surgery at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital because the second-floor master suite was off-limits. We drove out, measured the 14-foot straight run with a laser, and installed the same week. The brown-upholstered seat parks flush against the wall at the bottom, clearing the newel post by three inches. Mrs. Whitfield slept in her own bed that night.

Falling Water custom home — curved rail on sweeping two-story foyer staircase

Falling Water, IL Installed February 2026

A custom-built home in Falling Water with a sweeping curved staircase in a two-story foyer — wrought-iron balusters, open risers, and a 180-degree arc from the marble foyer to the upper landing. Mr. Morrison built this house in 1995 and the staircase was the centerpiece of the design. Two other companies declined the job. We laser-scanned the full curve on the first visit, fabricated a single curved rail that follows the arc without touching the iron balusters, and installed a swivel-exit seat at the top landing. His VA provider at Hines wrote the HISA prescription, and the grant covered $6,800 of the cost. One ride, zero transfers, and the staircase still looks the way he designed it.

Kraml Drive bi-level — straight rail on carpeted basement stairs

Kraml Drive, IL Installed January 2026

A 1970s bi-level near Kraml Drive with carpeted stairs from the main level to the finished basement and a standard 36-inch-wide staircase. The brown-upholstered seat sits at the top of the stairs next to the family room entrance. The rail bolts through the carpet into the wooden treads beneath — no carpet removal, no damage to the pile. Folded, the seat and rail take up 11 inches, leaving 25 inches of clear passage. The grandchildren who visit from Hinsdale every weekend run past it without a second glance.

Carriageway Club home — outdoor lift on walkout patio steps

Carriageway Club, IL Installed December 2025

A colonial in Carriageway Club with a walkout basement and six concrete patio steps that iced over every winter. Mr. Fletcher had already fallen twice on the icy steps before his daughter called us. The cream-colored weather-resistant seat sits at the bottom near the patio, ready when he goes out to the yard. Every component is freeze-rated to minus 20 degrees for Chicagoland winters, UV-stabilized for summer sun, and carries an IP55 seal against snow, ice, and rain. The battery backup kept the lift running through a two-day cold-snap power outage last January.

Chasemoor townhome — straight rail on three-level stairway, same-week install

Chasemoor, IL Installed November 2025

A three-level townhome in the Chasemoor development near the Village Center with a straight stairway from the garage level to the main living area. Mrs. Kim's daughter called on Monday, we measured Tuesday afternoon, and the install crew arrived Thursday morning. The DuPage County Senior Services program connected the family with CDBG funding that covered the full cost. The slim-profile rail fits the compact townhome stairway, and the swivel seat at the top lets Mrs. Kim step off onto the main floor facing the kitchen. She was riding it by Thursday evening.

Platform Lift

Garfield Avenue home — inclined wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Garfield Avenue, IL Installed October 2025

A two-story home near Garfield Avenue on the Cook County side of Burr Ridge where Mr. Price uses a power wheelchair full-time after a service-connected spinal injury. A seated stairlift was not an option — he needed to ride his chair between floors. We installed an inclined wheelchair platform lift along the indoor stairway from the garage level to the main floor: a flat black anti-slip platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges on all thresholds, white handrails, and a keyed lockout so visiting grandchildren cannot activate it unsupervised. The HISA grant covered $6,800 and the Illinois Medicaid Persons with Disabilities waiver covered the remaining balance. Mr. Price rolls onto the platform, presses one button, and rides the incline to the main floor without leaving his chair.

Common Questions

Everything Burr Ridge Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Burr Ridge, IL?

Straight rails in standard Burr Ridge homes — the bi-levels near Kraml Drive, the Burr Ridge Club colonials along County Line Road — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails, which you'll need for most Falling Water and Carriageway Club homes with sweeping foyer staircases, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised entries and walkout patios run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are Burr Ridge prices different from Hinsdale or Willowbrook?

Equipment prices are the same across Illinois — we do not inflate or discount based on the neighborhood's home values. What varies is install labor for unusual conditions: the two-story curved foyer staircases common in Falling Water, the three-level townhome runs in Chasemoor, and the freeze-rated lubricant we spec on every Chicagoland install to handle sub-zero winters. Those are baseline specs, not upcharges. We list every line item on the written quote.

Is a stairlift cheaper than moving to a single-story home?

Moving costs in DuPage County — real estate commission, closing costs, packing, new deposits — typically run $25,000 to $50,000 given current Burr Ridge home values. A straight stairlift installs in under four hours for $2,800 to $5,500 and lets you stay in the home you built or bought decades ago, in the community you know. For most Burr Ridge families, the stairlift costs less than the real estate commission alone.

Do you offer financing for Burr Ridge homeowners?

Yes. We offer 12-month interest-free financing and extended terms up to 60 months starting at $79 per month for a standard straight install. Approval takes minutes during the in-home visit. We also help you stack financing with VA HISA, the Illinois Housing Development Authority programs, or DuPage County senior services so you pay the lowest possible out-of-pocket.

A word from Luis

Burr Ridge calls come from families in some of the nicest homes in DuPage County — a retired executive in Falling Water whose two-story foyer staircase has become the obstacle keeping her from the master suite, a widower in Carriageway Club whose children in Hinsdale want him closer but he will not leave the house he built in 1992, a veteran in the County Line Road area whose Hines VA provider wrote the HISA prescription last month.

I drive out, measure the staircase, and hand you a written quote honored for 30 days. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
