Stairlift Service Across Norfolk County

Norfolk County, MA

North Bellingham holds the town's oldest housing — 1950s capes and ranches with narrow, steep staircases that demand compact rail profiles. South Bellingham and the Lake Street corridor mix colonials and split-levels from the 1970s, some with landing turns requiring curved rails. Caryville, the old mill village along the Charles River, has 1940s cottages with tight stairwells and low ceilings. Scott Hill colonials from the 1980s tend toward standard two-story layouts — the simplest installs we do. We also serve Franklin, Milford, Medway, Norfolk, Mendon, and Blackstone within 15 minutes.

Straight

North Bellingham cape — straight rail on steep narrow stairs

North Bellingham, MA Installed March 2026

A 1954 cape in North Bellingham with the steep, narrow staircase typical of postwar New England construction. Mrs. Donahue had been sleeping on the living room couch for six weeks after a fall. Her daughter called Monday, we measured Tuesday, and installed Wednesday. The compact-profile rail takes 8 inches on one side — the rest of the family walks past without turning sideways. The beige seat folds flat at the bottom and the folding footrest tucks under the ceiling line at the base of the stairs.

Curved

South Bellingham colonial — curved rail around the L-shaped landing

South Bellingham, MA Installed February 2026

A 1976 colonial on the south side of Bellingham with an L-shaped staircase and a 90-degree turn at the upper landing. A national chain quoted two separate straight rails with a mid-staircase transfer. We laser-scanned the entire run and fabricated a single curved rail that carries Mr. Fioretti from the front hall to the upstairs hallway in one continuous ride. The swivel-exit seat at the top lets him step off directly onto the landing. His wife said it was the best investment they have made in the house.

Caryville mill cottage — straight rail in a tight stairwell

Caryville, MA Installed January 2026

A 1940s mill cottage in Caryville with a compact stairwell, low ceilings, and original plaster walls. The staircase is barely 28 inches wide — two other companies declined the job. We fitted the slimmest rail in our catalog and added a folding footrest so the chair tucks completely under the ceiling line at the base. Mrs. Kaczynski is 82 and has used the lift every day since January. The plaster walls were never touched — the rail is self-supporting and bolts only into the treads.

Outdoor

Scott Hill colonial — weather-sealed outdoor lift on granite front steps

Scott Hill, MA Installed December 2025

A 1985 colonial on Scott Hill with five exterior granite steps from the walkway to the front door — no handrail and New England ice that makes the granite lethal from December through March. Mr. Sullivan is a veteran who qualified for a HISA grant through the Brockton VA. The outdoor rail is weather-sealed against freeze-thaw, road salt, and nor'easter moisture, UV-coated, and the motor housing carries an IP55 weather rating. It ran through the entire winter without a service call.

Straight

Scott Hill two-story — straight rail on oak hardwood stairs

Scott Hill, MA Installed November 2025

A 1988 two-story on Scott Hill with oak hardwood stairs, standard width, and no complications. Mrs. Harrison had hip replacement surgery at Milford Regional and her physical therapist recommended a stairlift before discharge. Her son called Wednesday, we measured Thursday morning, and the lift was running by Friday at noon. The rail bolts into the treads only — never touches the oak banister or the wall. The family said the hardest part was deciding which upholstery color to pick.

Platform Lift

Lake Street accessible remodel — indoor wheelchair platform lift

Lake Street, MA Installed October 2025

A Lake Street corridor home where Mr. Jansen uses a power wheelchair full-time after a stroke. The three-step interior level change between the garage entry and the kitchen required a wheelchair platform lift — not a seated stairlift. We installed a flat platform with yellow high-visibility safety edges on every border, controls mounted at wheelchair height on both levels, and an automatic safety gate that locks before the platform moves. Mr. Jansen rolls on, presses one button, and rolls off on the kitchen level.

Common Questions

Everything Bellingham Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Bellingham, MA right now?

Straight rails for standard Bellingham homes — the North Bellingham capes, Caryville cottages, Scott Hill colonials — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for staircases with landing turns, common in South Bellingham colonials and older Lake Street corridor homes, run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is fabricated to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised front entries run $4,000 to $7,500. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are Bellingham prices different from Franklin or Milford?

Equipment prices are identical whether you live in Bellingham, Franklin, Milford, Medway, or Norfolk — we do not inflate quotes based on zip code. What can vary slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: steep narrow treads in older Caryville mill cottages, HOA paperwork in newer Scott Hill developments, or marine-grade coating on outdoor installs exposed to nor'easter weather. Everything is itemized upfront.

Does the winter-rated outdoor coating cost extra?

No. Every outdoor Bellingham install ships with weather-sealed rail coating standard — New England freeze-thaw and road-salt exposure demand it. National chains price this as a $400 add-on. We include it because an outdoor rail in Norfolk County without winter coating starts corroding within 18 months. The quote covers the coating, UV seal, and IP55 weather-rated motor housing.

Is a used or refurbished stairlift cheaper in Bellingham?

Used straight rails run $1,500 to $2,800 installed — roughly half the cost of new. We recondition every unit in-house: new batteries, new upholstery, factory-tested motor and safety sensors. Curved rails cannot be reused because every curved track is fabricated to one specific staircase. If your North Bellingham cape or Scott Hill colonial has a standard straight run, a refurbished unit is a solid option. Same warranty on labor and rail, same service coverage.

A word from Luis

Most Bellingham families call me after a scare — a parent who slipped on the narrow stairs of a North Bellingham cape, a retired factory worker in Caryville whose knees finally gave out, a daughter in Boston worried about her mother alone in a Scott Hill colonial the family has owned since 1975.

I drive out within 24 hours, measure once, and hand you a written quote honored for 30 days. Bellingham homes are New England stock — capes, colonials, and split-levels with narrow treads and steep pitches. I have measured every variation along the I-495 corridor. No pressure. No upsells. En español si lo prefiere.
