Our Coverage Area

Stairlift Service Across Campbell County

Campbell County, KY

Alexandria proper stretches along the US-27 corridor from Four Mile Creek south to the Campbell County line, with most of the housing stock in planned subdivisions built between 1975 and 2005 — Pointe Alexandria, Alexandria Commons, Timber Ridge, and the developments off Licking Pike. Homes are overwhelmingly two-story colonials and split-levels with standard straight-run staircases, though the older properties near Alexandria Pike sometimes have mid-landing turns that require curved rails. We also serve Cold Spring, Fort Thomas, Newport, Wilder, Highland Heights, and Southgate throughout Campbell County — your installer lives in Northern Kentucky, not driving from Louisville.

Pointe Alexandria colonial — straight rail on carpeted stairs to second-floor bedrooms

Pointe Alexandria, KY Installed March 2026

A 1992 two-story colonial in the Pointe Alexandria subdivision with wide carpeted stairs and a clean straight run from the foyer to the second floor. Mrs. Koehler had both knees replaced within six months and needed a safe way upstairs while recovering. Luis used extended mounting bolts through the carpet pad into the subfloor, color-matched the seat upholstery to the beige carpet, and had the rail running before lunch. The warm hardwood foyer frames the base of the staircase where the seat parks folded against the wall.

Timber Ridge split-level — curved rail with 90-degree landing turn past the newel post

Timber Ridge, KY Installed February 2026

A 1988 split-level in Timber Ridge with a 90-degree turn at the mid-landing and a decorative newel post the family wanted preserved. Sgt. Major Lawson retired from the Army after 24 years and his care runs through the Cincinnati VA Medical Center. Luis laser-scanned the staircase, fabricated a curved rail that threads past the newel post without touching it, and installed a swivel-exit seat at the top hallway. The seat parks at the upper landing with framed family photos on the wall behind it. His HISA grant through the Cincinnati VA covered $6,800.

Four Mile Creek ranch — compact straight rail on original hardwood treads beside a sideboard

Four Mile Creek, KY Installed January 2026

A 1975 raised ranch near Four Mile Creek with original oak treads and a wooden sideboard at the base of the stairs that Mrs. Mercer refused to move. The narrow staircase demanded the slimmest rail in our catalog. Luis shimmed two brackets where the old treads had settled slightly over fifty years, so the chair rides perfectly level. The compact rail fits without crowding the entry, and the seat parks at the bottom next to the sideboard and a potted plant. The traditional, cozy interior stays intact.

Cold Spring raised entry — outdoor rail on concrete front steps with freeze-thaw protection

Cold Spring, KY Installed December 2025

A 1960s ranch in Cold Spring with a raised concrete entry and six exterior steps that iced over every Northern Kentucky winter. Mrs. Schaefer's daughter called after her mother slipped on black ice in January and fractured her wrist. Luis installed a weather-sealed outdoor rail with 316-stainless fasteners rated for road salt, a cream-colored UV-stable seat, and a marine-grade cover. The battery backup ran the lift through the entire January ice storm when Duke Energy power was out for eighteen hours.

Alexandria Commons colonial — pre-surgery straight rail on wide carpeted stairs

Alexandria Commons, KY Installed November 2025

A 1995 colonial in Alexandria Commons with wide, carpeted stairs and a clean straight run from the foyer to the bedrooms. Mrs. Hendricks's orthopedic surgeon at St. Elizabeth Hospital told her she would need a total knee replacement and should not use the stairs unassisted for eight weeks post-op. Luis used extended mounting bolts through the thick carpet pad into the subfloor for a rock-solid mount. The brown upholstery was selected to match the carpet tone, and the seat parks at the landing where the tiled foyer meets the carpeted stairs.

Platform Lift

Licking Pike split-level — indoor wheelchair platform lift with yellow safety edges

Licking Pike, KY Installed October 2025

A 1980 split-level off Licking Pike where Mr. Wallace uses a power wheelchair after a stroke. The five-step rise from the garage entry to the main living level made half the house inaccessible. Luis installed an inclined indoor platform lift with a flat black anti-slip platform, bright yellow high-visibility safety edges, and white handrails along the indoor stairway. Mr. Wallace is an Army veteran whose care runs through the Cincinnati VA Medical Center. His HISA grant covered $6,800. We also filed the IRS medical expense deduction paperwork, which will return an additional $1,200-$1,800 at tax time depending on their bracket.

Common Questions

Everything Alexandria Homeowners Actually Ask

Straight answers about cost, installation, and funding — no sales fluff. Browse by topic or call us if you have a question that isn't here.

What does a stairlift cost in Alexandria, KY right now?

Straight rails in standard Alexandria homes — the 1990s colonials along US-27, the split-levels in Pointe Alexandria, the ranches near Four Mile Creek — run $2,800 to $5,500 installed. Curved rails for mid-landing turns in older homes along Alexandria Pike run $9,000 to $15,000 because the rail is manufactured to your exact staircase geometry. Outdoor models for raised entries and front stoops run $4,000 to $7,500 with freeze-thaw spec included. Every quote is written, honored for 30 days, and includes installation, rail, seat, battery backup, and the first service visit.

Are prices different in Alexandria versus other parts of Campbell County?

Equipment prices are identical across Campbell County — Alexandria, Cold Spring, Fort Thomas, Newport, Highland Heights. What can vary slightly is install labor for unusual conditions: fitting a slim-profile rail into a narrow Victorian staircase in Newport, shimming brackets on century-old treads in Fort Thomas, or running a longer outdoor rail on a hillside lot in Wilder. Every line item is listed on the written quote. No neighborhood surcharge.

Can I combine VA benefits with the IRS medical deduction?

Yes — and most Northern Kentucky veterans should. The VA HISA grant covers up to $6,800 for service-connected disabilities. Separately, if your doctor prescribes the stairlift, the IRS lets you deduct the full cost as a qualified medical expense on Schedule A. They come from different sources and stack. On a $5,000 straight rail install, a veteran could recover the HISA grant plus $1,000-$1,500 at tax time depending on bracket. We file both sets of paperwork.

Does insurance ever cover a stairlift in Kentucky?

Traditional Medicare does not cover stairlifts. Kentucky Medicaid through HCBS waiver programs does cover them as environmental modifications — see the funding tab. Some Medicare Advantage plans and long-term care insurance policies cover partial or full cost. If your parent has a long-term care policy, check for 'home modification' or 'durable medical equipment' coverage. We provide the documentation format most insurers require.

A word from Luis

Alexandria sits up on the ridge above the Ohio River — most of the homes here are two-story colonials and split-levels built in the 1980s and 1990s when Campbell County was booming. The families calling me now are the original owners. They commuted to Cincinnati for thirty years, raised their kids, and now the bedrooms are all upstairs and the knees aren't what they were.

I drive down from Northern Kentucky the same day you call, measure your staircase, and hand you a written quote good for 30 days. If you're a veteran using Fort Thomas VA or the Cincinnati VA Medical Center, I bring the HISA paperwork on the first visit.
